{"id":1139,"date":"2015-02-19T03:00:22","date_gmt":"2015-02-19T08:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/?p=1139"},"modified":"2015-02-19T18:19:28","modified_gmt":"2015-02-19T23:19:28","slug":"unknown-etch-sherbert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/?p=1139","title":{"rendered":"Dorflinger Glass Sherbert with Lotus Etch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Dorflinger-Decanter.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-3782\" src=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Dorflinger-Decanter-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Dorflinger Decanter\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Dorflinger-Decanter-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Dorflinger-Decanter.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>I still have these pieces. \u00a0In fact here is a photo of a decanter that I bought and sold with this pattern (I loved the stopper, hollow with the dainty etch on it). \u00a0Until recently, they remained unnamed. \u00a0However I came across these punch cups on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.etsy.com\/ca\/listing\/214679600\/rare-1907-1918-dorflinger-lotus-punch\">Etsy<\/a>\u00a0and took the opportunity to ask the seller if s\/he knew anything about this pattern<\/p>\n<p>As it turns out the pattern is acid etched. \u00a0Older pieces &#8211; 1908-1918. \u00a0It is called Lotus and was produced by Dorflinger Glass. \u00a0On Replacements.com they identify a water goblet as part of Kalana line. \u00a0But my stem has a bit of a bead on it, unlike the Replacements.com stem so I don&#8217;t know if it is from the same line.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know anything about Dorflinger Glass, but here is a link to the<a href=\"http:\/\/dorflinger.org\/dorflinger-glass-museum\/\"> Dorflinger Glass Museum<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<p>I was in Orono this past weekend and the four stems are still there. \u00a0Now that I know what they are, I might have to have another, more serious peek at them.<\/p>\n<p>Original post April 18, 2012<\/p>\n<p>This glass is driving me crazy! \u00a0A year or so ago I saw wine stems in this pattern in Orono. \u00a0They were costly so I didn&#8217;t buy them. \u00a0I saw two of these at the Courtice flea market recently. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/018-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1130\" title=\"018 (2)\" src=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/018-2-266x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"266\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/018-2-266x300.jpg 266w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/018-2-908x1024.jpg 908w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/018-2.jpg 1636w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 266px) 100vw, 266px\" \/><\/a>They were $7.00 so I thought I&#8217;d get them.<\/p>\n<p>I thought that I had seen this pattern in a book. \u00a0So&#8230;..I poured over all my books and found, what I thought was this pattern. \u00a0It is Bryce Brothers, Etch 410, also known as Tall Fans, Thistle or Asparagus. \u00a0This is what I remembered. \u00a0But unfortunately it is close but not quite bang on. \u00a0Dang!
