We went to Cobourg on the weekend for the Rotary Ribfest<\/a>. \u00a0I wanted to stop at the Antique store next t Meet at 66 King East. \u00a0I was in there a couple months ago and saw\"\"<\/a> a hand vase that I should have bought, but didn’t. \u00a0So…I thought I’d see if it was still hanging around (it wasn’t).<\/p>\n

I saw this piece and fell in love. \u00a0It was more expensive than I usually pay so I couldn’t buy it without some research. \u00a0Came home, researched, went back the next day and bought it.<\/p>\n

This is my first piece of Northwood Glass. \u00a0It was made in the first decade of the 20th century. \u00a0It is carnival glass. \u00a0This piece is white with a coloured irridesence. \u00a0The pattern extends down the stem of the compote. \u00a0Very intricate and \"\"<\/a>very pretty. \u00a0The pattern comes in a number of beautiful colours and on other pieces as well.<\/p>\n

The more I read about Carnival glass and the more pieces I see, the more interest I have. \u00a0I have another Northwood piece coming in the mail \u00a0Looking forward to seeing it.<\/p>\n
