King&#8217;s Crown, Crown, Thumbprint, Early American Crown and Thumbprint and when it was made in carnival glass, it was called a 5 inch Wedding Bowl. This compote was made for MANY years, in MANY colors and came in a covered and uncovered version. Please see the table below for some of the colors made.&#8221; \u00a0This page provides a number of examples in the different colours.<a href=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/008.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1684\" title=\"008\" src=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/008-250x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/008-250x300.jpg 250w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/008-854x1024.jpg 854w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/008.jpg 1973w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vintagefrompaul.com\/Guide_to_Kings_Crown.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vintage from Paul offers this Guide to King&#8217;s Crown<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">&#8220;The pattern, produced by both Indiana Glass and Tiffin Glass was originally called\u00a0Excelsior as manufactured in the late 1800\u2019s by the Adams Glass Company. \u00a0The pattern gained popularity in the late 1800\u2019s due to its\u2019 clean lines and at the\u00a0time deep ruby staining of the top portion of the piece.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">The glass was quite heavy and thick in order to accommodate the very deep\u00a0thumbprints on the lower portion of the body of the pieces, mainly creamers and\u00a0open sugar bowls.\u00a0<strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">A common misconception among collectors of this pattern is that Indiana Glass\u00a0purchased the Adams molds from Tiffin Glass after they ceased production. \u00a0<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Indiana Glass catalogs before this time however show the pattern was in\u00a0production at the same time as Tiffin Glass was also making this pattern.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">The early Indiana Glass pieces were in clear crystal as well as crystal with ruby\u00a0staining. \u00a0In the mid to late 1960\u2019s Indiana Glass was manufacturing this popular pattern in\u00a0amber, olive green, smoky blue and milk glass.\u00a0\u00a0The staining colors included ruby,\u00a0cranberry, yellow, gold and platinum.\u00a0\u00a0When Indiana Glass acquired US Glass the\u00a0molds were retooled and incorporated into the vast collection of Indiana Glass.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">The\u00a0company continued to make this pattern well into the 1990\u2019s in a rainbow of colored\u00a0glass.\u00a0\u00a0The last color being produced was an Imperial Blue color.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 0;float:none;height:100px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/?p=1673\" send=\"true\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"450\" show_faces=\"true\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some nice person referred me to this catalog page to verify the tumblers&#8217;
