Update to the original October 16, 2012 posting.<\/p>\n

\"Butterfly<\/a>When I originally posted this piece I identified it as an unknown pitcher. \u00a0I have recently found out, with advice from the Elegant and Everyday Glass Forum<\/a>, that this is a tankard #95 and that it was made by Cambridge Glass. \u00a0The etch\/engraving has not been identified.<\/p>\n

I don’t know what the difference between a tankard and a pitcher is, but I am guessing that it’s size. \u00a0This piece only holds 18 fluid ounces, which is pretty small. \u00a0Which, in my mind makes it surprising to find 6 glasses with it. \u00a0Of course they are small too and likely only hold 3 ounces. \u00a0I’ll have to measure. \u00a0I didn’t have a photo of the glasses with the initial posting, so thought I’d add this one.<\/p>\n

Check out the Miami Valley Study Group<\/a> if you are interested in the surprisingly large number of tankard variations \u00a0made by Cambridge, or just Cambridge pieces at all. \u00a0They have a wealth of information at this site.<\/p>\n

It would be nice to identify the decoration!<\/p>\n

\"Butterfly<\/a>Despite the fact that I have posted butterflies twice within the last few days, and I have a Heisey basket with butterflies, I am NOT starting a collection! \u00a0Strictly coincidence.<\/p>\n

However it was the thought of the Heisey piece that made me buy this pitcher and glasses (not shown). \u00a0I can’t even remember where I got the pieces and it wasn’t even that long ago. \u00a0I saw it and wondered if it matched the Heisey etch. \u00a0It\"\"<\/a> wasn’t signed, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. \u00a0In any event I brought it home.<\/p>\n

The butterflies are very similar, but not the same. \u00a0I haven’t yet identified the piece. \u00a0The pitcher is small. \u00a0But obviously meant for some beverage since it is matched with tiny juice glasses.<\/p>\n

Pretty. \u00a0I’ll keep looking for the ID.<\/p>\n
