\"Watermelon<\/a>Have you ever had a week so busy that you couldn’t even post on your blog??? \u00a0of course everyone has. \u00a0I have been wanting to show off some of my new stuff, but didn’t have time to take the photos even. \u00a0I still have glass on the kitchen counter. I don’t want to put it away until I have taken pictures. \u00a0Plus I have to find some room!<\/p>\n

I picked up four or five of these pretty pieces in a Salvation Army in Niagara Falls, NY.<\/p>\n

The colour, the pink bowl and stem and the green foot is called watermelon. \u00a0You see pieces like these relatively often. \u00a0\"Watermelon<\/a>More rare, I gather, are the pieces where the bowl and stem are both green. \u00a0Even more unusual are the stems where the stem and bowl are green and the foot is pink. \u00a0I’ve never seen these, that I can recall anyway.<\/p>\n

These pieces have a diamond optic. \u00a0I’ve tried to show this in the second photo.<\/p>\n

These stems look like pieces that I have found online, attributed to the Louie Glass Company of West Virginia, likely produced prior to 1940. \u00a0A couple websites indicate that Louie shared its moulds with other glass companies. \u00a0The area and timing are likely in the ball park, the company – who knows?<\/p>\n
