\"Unknown<\/a>Isn’t this neat? \u00a0I picked eight of these up at the local Salvation Army shop. \u00a0I had never seen this shape\/blank, but the thickness of the glass, the leg, and the very narrow optic convinced me that the glasses are old. \u00a0There were sherberts too, but I ran out of cash (that’s all they take).<\/p>\n

A contributor on the Elegant and Everyday Glass Forum identified these stems. \u00a0I’d not heard of Utility Glass Works. \u00a0I gather this was a company located in Maryland. It began as the Dugan Glass Company in 1914, transitioned to the \u00a0Lonaconing Glass Company from 1915-1918 and then became the Utility Glass Works in 1920.<\/p>\n

Although there is no etch, \"Unknown<\/a>I find the shape very attractive. \u00a0I still find it amazing that these glasses have lasted more than 80 years!<\/p>\n
