\"huntington-thistle-water\"<\/a>I did receive the book that I mentioned below. \u00a0It is a great resource, but neither this stem, or this etch were represented.<\/p>\n

The etch with the little bumblebees still tickles my fancy. \u00a0I came across these goblets online. \u00a0Although I still haven’t verified them 100% as Huntington – this is my story and I am sticking to it!<\/p>\n

These 7 inch pieces are likely water goblets.<\/p>\n

\"Huntington<\/a>I have not been diligent at posting on this blog. \u00a0I had a wonderful week away in Cuba and then a busy week to make up for my wonderful vacation!<\/p>\n

But I had to show off this pretty, pretty tumbler. \u00a0I am very certain that it is a Thistle etch tumbler by the Huntington Tumbler Company of Huntington, West Virginia. \u00a0A couple months ago I was watching some glasses on ebay with the similar etch. \u00a0They were unidentified. \u00a0I was intrigued by the pattern and poked around for the provenance.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately the vendor wouldn’t come down on the shipping cost. \u00a0So many ebay vendors are now using the Global Shipping Program. \u00a0Shipping costs are at the Priority Post rate, which is expensive. \u00a0Duties are also charged up front. \u00a0I find this to be a rip off. \u00a0Duties are rarely charged at the Canadian border. \u00a0Taxes are only charged on expensive items. \u00a0I won’t buy from a vendor who ships through this program. \u00a0It’s too bad. \u00a0OK – that’s my rant for the day!\"Huntington<\/a><\/p>\n

Anyway…I came across three of these stems. \u00a0I wanted to know more about them so I have ordered the book – The Huntington Tumbler Company: a brief history with research notes………This publication is part of a glass study series of The West Virginia Museum of American Glass, Ltd. \u00a0They have many, many interesting publications that can be purchased from the Museum<\/a> directly or through their ebay store.<\/a>\u00a0 I highly recommend perusing their many titles. \u00a0I haven’t received my book yet, but I am looking forward to learning more about this company, defunct since 1932, and about these pretty yellow\/amber stems.<\/p>\n

I have a couple Paden City pieces coming. \u00a0As always, looking forward to my new pretty, shiny pieces. \u00a0I’ll update this posting when I receive my book (if there’s anything relevant of course!)<\/p>\n
