Update to my post of March 20, 2014…….I gather that the line is actually #211 – Spire. \u00a0I gather there is a lack of evidence to validate the line number, but that it is commonly assumed, by folks who are in the know, that this is #211, despite what my text indicates.<\/p>\n

—————————————-My handy dandy Paden City reference tells me that this is a reverse etch that includes daisies and swallows. \u00a0I can’t determine what a ‘reverse etch’ actually is! \u00a0My not so handy dandy Glass Dictionary doesn’t have any information. \u00a0I’ll have to poke around the ‘net when I have more time.<\/p>\n

In any event, the etch is quite deep. \u00a0The cordials are \u00a0the #991 Penny Line blank. \u00a0The decanter is from the #215 Glades line. \u00a0The piece are gold encrusted. \u00a0I think that the gold on these pieces is likely faded from years of washing. \u00a0It is intact, but I imagine it was originally brighter. \u00a0Still very pretty.<\/p>\n

I had a piece of Spring Orchard, a decanter from a different line, that I sold. \u00a0I was somewhat sorry as it was pretty, and different. \u00a0Must be that darned unknown reverse etching! \u00a0I think I may admire these for awhile.<\/p>\n

Don’t know how old they are. \u00a0Paden City closed its doors in 1951. \u00a0So they are at least older than I am. \u00a0So…….they are definitely vintage!<\/p>\n
