\"Jeannette<\/a>I have sorely neglected my little blog. \u00a0It is difficult to focus on a glass obsession, which is an indoor hobby, when the garden is in bloom and needs soooooo much work.<\/p>\n

I see while re-reading the older post that I was mulling over ‘collection’ sizes. \u00a0I still don’t know what it is, but I think it is definitely more than three!<\/p>\n

Currently I only have three powder jars – this one, by Jeannette as well, my Scottie and my L.E. Smith jar. \u00a0The elephants and donkey jars were purchased. \u00a0So… my story is that I no longer have a collection, just random pieces.<\/p>\n

I have seen this one in the marigold as well. \u00a0It\u00a0is a cute little thing.<\/p>\n

I don’t k\"Jeannette<\/a>now when an assortment of similar items becomes a collection. \u00a0Is it when you have three, or is it more than five,\u00a0of something similar?<\/p>\n

I currently have, if I am recalling \u00a0correctly, four covered powder jars. \u00a0Two elephant jars, a Scottie jar and now this donkey jar. \u00a0This piece, like the Scottie jar, was made by the Jeannette Glass Company of Jeannette, New York . \u00a0It is a fairly common piece that is also found in pink. \u00a0I read online at the K and M Antique Store <\/a>website\u00a0that some\u00a0\u00a0donkey jars have been found with original labels indicating that they held Spicy Apple Blossom Body Powder from Landers Distributors of New York.<\/b><\/p>\n

I almost bought the most marvelous pink bull dog powder jar, likely “Butch” made by L.E. Smith, on my recent travels, but its tail was chipped and I passed. \u00a0I have also owned a pretty amber French poodle jar in the past as well. \u00a0I sold it, and have somewhat regretted it since.<\/p>\n

I don’t think this is a collection yet. \u00a0Maybe six pieces is a collection. \u00a0I actually happen to like Scotties and donkeys and deliberately set out to purchase these two pieces to keep indefinitely. \u00a0In fact, my daughter and I are off to a local donkey sanctuary today for a visit, if it doesn’t rain.<\/p>\n

The elephant jars are more expendable – poor things.<\/p>\n
