\"Scotty<\/a>It is so handy when a piece has a maker’s mark.\u00a0 Nice to see Dominion’s (of Montreal) cursive “D’ on the bottom of these tumblers.\u00a0 There are a number of\u00a0 variations of the “Scotty Dogs” tumblers made, in the ’40s and ’50s, by companies such as Hazel-Atlas, Federal, Libbey, Bartlett-Collins, etc. and it is difficult to pinpoint which company made which pattern.<\/p>\n

The Scotty lines were barware for the most part – tumblers, pitchers, ashtrays, mugs and ice tubs, although Hazel-Atlas made a Scotty baby bottle.<\/p>\n

I gather that tumblers such as these, with red checkerboard designs, are referred to as “Purina” style (don’t know why).\u00a0 Maybe Purina dogfood bags have\/had this design.<\/p>\n

I like these glasses.\u00a0 These little pups are frisky and cheerful looking!<\/p>\n
