Colors &amp; Patterns of Depression Era Glassware by Doris Yeske &amp; Lyle Fokken &#8211; which refers to Fostoria&#8217;s &#8216;yellow&#8217; glass being called &#8216;Topaz&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, Fenton is a company that is not well represented in my collections, or purchases.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t know why.\u00a0 I tend to lean toward Heisey, Cambridge or Fostoria glass lines and etches.<\/p>\n<p>The brightness of the colour, and the opalescence around the rim caught my eye.\u00a0 However the pattern is pretty too.\u00a0 The photos may not show this well &#8211; but there are rings in the glass.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know if the pattern was named &#8220;Ring&#8217; or &#8216;Rings&#8217; or &#8216;Ringed&#8217; by Fenton but I see online that it is often referred to by one of those names.<a href=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/?attachment_id=5598\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5598\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-5598\" src=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Fenton-100-Ringed-7-300x228.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"228\" srcset=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Fenton-100-Ringed-7-300x228.jpg 300w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Fenton-100-Ringed-7-1024x777.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Fenton-100-Ringed-7-768x583.jpg 768w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Fenton-100-Ringed-7-1536x1166.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Fenton-100-Ringed-7-2048x1555.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This piece does glow brightly under a blacklight.\u00a0 These bright green pieces are often referred to as Vaseline glass.<\/p>\n<p>The Encyclopedia of Glass by Mark Pickvet defines &#8216;Vaseline Glass&#8217; as follows (p. 269):<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Glass made with a small amount of uranium oxide (usually 1-2%) that imparts a light greenish-yellow color&#8230;&#8230;Vaseline glass was first made by the Romans; however it was not used in glass production in any quantity until the mid-nineteenth century.\u00a0 The term &#8216;Vaseline&#8217; was not used until about 1937.\u00a0 Note <a href=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/?attachment_id=5596\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5596\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5596\" src=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Fenton-100-Ringed-4-300x140.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"140\" srcset=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Fenton-100-Ringed-4-300x140.jpg 300w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Fenton-100-Ringed-4-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Fenton-100-Ringed-4-768x359.jpg 768w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Fenton-100-Ringed-4-1536x718.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Fenton-100-Ringed-4-2048x957.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>that the English usually refer to Vaseline glass as &#8216;Lemonescent&#8217;
