{"id":870,"date":"2014-07-30T04:11:56","date_gmt":"2014-07-30T08:11:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/?p=870"},"modified":"2014-07-30T06:03:06","modified_gmt":"2014-07-30T10:03:06","slug":"viking-prelude-bon-bon-dish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/?p=870","title":{"rendered":"Update to&#8230;..Viking\/New Martinsville Prelude Bon Bon Dish (1930s-1950s)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Viking-Prelude-Sherberts-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-3434\" src=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Viking-Prelude-Sherberts-2-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Viking Prelude Sherberts (2)\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Viking-Prelude-Sherberts-2-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Viking-Prelude-Sherberts-2-682x1024.jpg 682w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>And yet again&#8230;..I&#8217;ve never seen Prelude stemware. \u00a0Came across these stems &#8211; oysters, fruit cocktails, whatever, d<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-3435\" src=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Viking-Prelude-Sherberts-3-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Viking Prelude Sherberts (3)\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>uring my recent trip to Washington and Virginia. \u00a0I am still not a fan of this etch, but I like the stemware more than the serving pieces.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>Original March 22, 2012 post<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve shown this etch before, but this is such a pretty shape that I thought it worth showcasing.\u00a0\u00a0The pattern was originally made by the New Martinsville Glass Manufacturing Company of West Virginia, starting in the 1930s.\u00a0 The company was bought out by the Viking Glass Company which continued to produce the etch into the &#8217;50s.<\/p>\n<p>I have a couple different bon bon dishes. \u00a0I really don&#8217;t use them and they are stuck somewhere in a drawer, or even in a box. \u00a0One thing about this glass obsession&#8230;.I don&#8217;t really enjoy all my pieces as I can&#8217;t possibly have them all out to be seen!
