Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/005.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1732\" title=\"005\" src=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/005-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/005-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/grannysglasses.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/005-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>I picked up this piece at a local thrift shop. \u00a0It is one of the milkglass pieces I referred to in March. \u00a0A little bigger than the green piece, and smaller than my blue. \u00a0I am going to have to take a photo of the blue one of these days.<\/p>\n<p>Original Posting From March 23, 2012 &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Had some fun today wandering around Orono and shops in town. \u00a0Picked up some odds and sods including this compote. \u00a0I think it is a Depression era piece, but can&#8217;t swear to it. \u00a0The teardrops are raised. \u00a0I think you can see them clearly. \u00a0The green is a bit brighter than it would seem from this photo. \u00a0It&#8217;s cloudy outside and I didn&#8217;t use the flash.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve seen this piece in white milkglass a number of times. \u00a0The piece comes in several colours and can be fairly easily located. \u00a0Actually I&#8217;ve just realized that I have a blue one as well. \u00a0I&#8217;ll have to take a photo of that some day. \u00a0It&#8217;s filled with seashells (another casual collection, from sunny southern vacations). \u00a0My daughter asked me what compotes were used for. \u00a0I assume that the larger ones held fruit and the smaller ones held runny food stuff &#8211;
