This was one of those purchases where you get taken, but don’t realize it until later. I bought this bell a few years ago in the U.S. It was $10.00. I don’t collect bells, but this was a pretty blue and I liked the etch (I didn’t know what it was at the time). Got it home and at some point realized that the stem was broken and had been cleverly stuck together with some kind of gum which came apart in my hands. In a fit of pique I threw the stem out. In retrospect I thought that I might have tried to have it repaired. Haven’t been able to make myself throw the bell out, although it is stuck in a drawer. Navarre is a popular etch. I had some brandy snifters which I sold to a man online, who then proceeded to cheat me by reporting that he hadn’t received them. This is when I learned that you do not underreport the value of an item, for customs, as a favour to someone. So…the long and the short of it, is that Navarre has not been lucky for me. I don’t collect it – out of spite!!!!!
