Needle Etch, Thistle, Wine Glass

Bohemia Thistle Wine GlassesI have owned, and posted quite a number of pieces with this etch, over the years.  I have owned champagne flutes and saucers, brandy snifters, decanters, juice glasses, cordials and now these wine glasses (I assume).

Likely I have owned more pieces with this etch, than any other pattern.  Nonetheless I have sold most of them.

It is a pretty etch, difficult to photograph, so the photos never do it justice.  But this isn’t THE ONE that I will collect for myself!

Czechoslovakia, Pinwheel

My partner, in life, and collecting (although he’d deny it) picked this little stem up at a yard sale.  The lady who sold it said that it had belonged to her father.

I don’t know anything about the piece.  I am guessing, by the colour, that it is Czech or Bohemia Crystal.

It’s a small stem – likely a cordial, or liqueur glass.  I like the colour – I rarely purchase coloured stems, although I don’t know why.  Likely because they are generally more expensive.

Anyway nice thought from my guy.

Juice Glass

I’ve shown this etch on other stems.   I’ve owned various pieces and have a couple others still to show off, including these juice glasses.  They have a real nice shape and size to them.  The other glasses I’ve owned didn’t have the same design on the stem.

I’d never seen these before.  Came across them in Waterloo a couple weekends ago.  Think I bought six.  They will likely be on the ‘for sale’ block in the near future.
