I have owned, and posted quite a number of pieces with this etch, over the years. I have owned champagne flutes and saucers, brandy snifters, decanters, juice glasses, cordials and now these wine glasses (I assume).
Likely I have owned more pieces with this etch, than any other pattern. Nonetheless I have sold most of them.
It is a pretty etch, difficult to photograph, so the photos never do it justice. But this isn’t THE ONE that I will collect for myself!

I have a set of 8 (many different styles) in perfect shape. Everything from juice glasses, champagne, red & white wine, water, fruit naps, liquor, ….and several others types . Must sell as a lot but will make it worth your while.
Can somebody give me an idea of how much they sell for so I can get a handle on what to ask. I don’t want to cheat anyone, or undersell, but I am anxious to move them.
Thanks to all who reply.

Hi
These pieces are pretty popular, especially in Canada. I have sold quite a number of the wine glasses, champagnes, brandy snifters and decanters. The other pieces don’t seem to sell as well. I tend to charge about $15.00-$20.00 a glass for these pieces. I have sold them on ebay (ages ago) and on Etsy. Depending on your location, you could also try kijiji. If you want to sell as a lot, you likely will have to price the other pieces low. My experience is that the smaller just don’t sell. And….you have to factor in the shipping. If you sell to someone at a distance they may be unwilling to buy the whole lot and pay for shipping for pieces that they don’t really want. I am off to Florida today and not doing much with buying and selling online. When I return I will check in with you. I wouldn’t mind chatting a bit more with you about your collection, if you still have it. Thanks for posting and good luck!

I have some of these glasses up on ebay. 2 wine (I think) and sherbet/champagne (again, I think). They were my Great Grandmothers”. If you are interested, have a look!

Very pretty! I have had pieces with that stem in the past. I hope you have n problem selling them. I think I have sold most of my pieces to buyers in Canada. Must have been a popular pattern around here.
Thanks for sharing. cheers. d.b.

Hi,
I have been collecting the Bohemian Thistle pattern for years and inherited much of my set from my grandmother.
After breaking two glasses last week I purchased some used of Kijiji. The glasses that I picked up are heavier and thicker than the ones I inherited from my grandmother. Could they be a knock off or glass? I know that my grandmother’s and my patterns are authentic as they matched perfectly and mine were purchased at McIntosh and Watts in the late 90s.
Any thoughts? Any advice on how to know the authenticity? They don’t have a manufacturer the way my Waterford Crystal does.
Thanks,
Carolyn

Thnx for your question. I’m in no way an expert…..but….what I would say is that hand blown glass does vary in thickness and in the height of a piece.
I do know that some patterns of glass were made by different companies. For example, Pall Mall glass – same etch – was made by a number of different European companies in the early 1900s. My best guess is that this pattern was produced by different companies in Czechoslovakia. Hence the variety in glass thickness.
However……I am in no way an expert. But…I can say that I have never read anywhere that there are reproductions of this pattern.
I would bet that your pieces were produced in the relevant time frame.
Sorry I am of little help. Thnx for your question.
cheers

Hi – sorry no I don’t. You likely know that Replacements.com is a source, but I see they don’t have any. I had four, but just sold them myself. I only have three juice glasses left. I’ll keep my eyes open and if I see any, I will drop you an email. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help, but thanks for checking out the blog. cheers. d.b.

Question – there are a couple different shapes to the wine glasses. Are you looking for the ones to match the ones in my photo? cheers. d.b.
