Fostoria Chateau etch (1)I have long trolled the ‘net looking for a stem with the Chateau (#315) etch – 1933-1939.  They don’t seem to come up too often.  But I lucked into four of the water goblets (stem #6008) and had to have them.  They were a little more expensive than I would normally pay, but worth the price.

They do not disappoint.  They arrived in pristine condition as well.  However…….as I was washing them, I snapped the stem off of the bowl of one.  Very, very annoying.  I didn’t realize that I am as strong (and careless) and I obviously am.

A search for a fourth stem will now be placed on the list of “things I am always looking for when I am out and about”.

Heisey Pompeii (2)I was trolling around Etsy when I came across these goblets.  They were identified as Heisey pieces, without a pattern ID.  It took a few minutes to determine that these glasses were etched in pattern #449 – Pompeii (blank #3389, Dusquesne).

This is Heisey’s Sahara (light yellow).

This pattern was produced form 1931-1937.  it is a very formal pattern – birds, trees, laurel wrapped columns.Heisey Pompeii (3)  I don’t think they are commonly available.

I can’t say that these are favourites – too formal for me – but I am very happy to have them, just for a look and see!
