Depression Glass, Pink Glass, Tumblers

Sometimes glass identification is just a case of serendipity.  I picked up these two tumblers awhile back and had no luck identifying them.  I do not have alot of Depression glass resources, but turned to Warman and couldn’t find the pattern.

One day I was looking at something online and thought, “Hmmmm….this looks familiar!”  Luckily the tumblers were on a shelf right above my head, as opposed to being packed away and sure enough they were the same.  Pulled out my Warman again and sure enough there they were.

The pattern is called Royal Lace and is comprised of delicate flowers and medallions.

This is a piece of Depression era glass, with a manufacturing date range of 1934 – 1941.

Colored Glass, Coloured Glass, Creamer, Plate, Platonite, Saucers, White Glass

I wish I could remember where I bought these pieces creamer, two saucers and a small plate.  I do know it was on our spring road trip through Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana and I can recall the shop, but not the location.  Oh well, I guess is really doesn’t matter.

I saw these pieces and remembered them from a book I have.  I’d never seen them before, nor since.

The lines on the saucers differ in colour.  One is a deep red and one looks more like a salmon.  It doesn’t look like the colour has faded – looks original.  I don’t know if it was meant to be red, or if pinkish salmon was also made.

Platonite is the name of the glass I think.  Moderntone is the line (again, I think).

These are not Depression pieces, but made in the late forties/early fifties.

My book shows this line with willow designs in red and blue.  Very pretty.  I like the cobalt willow decoration and would love to see these.

Hazel Atlas Gay Nineties whiskey (4)Isn’t this a fun little glass?  It is part of a Hazel Atlas cocktail set called “Gay Nineties”.  It came with 6 inch highball tumblers, a 13 1/4 inch metal tray, a 10 inch cocktail shaker and the whiskey Hazel Atlas Gay Nineties whiskey (2)glasses.

I like all the folks painted on the glass.  They look like they are having lots of fun!Hazel Atlas Gay Nineties whiskey (1)
