Hobnail, Milkglass, Vase

Hobnail VaseLast new hobnail piece that I am going to show.  I also bought another white hen on nest, but I’ve already shown one off.

No markings on this vase, but I am assuming that it is a piece of Fenton.  Eight inches (more or less) tall.  Pretty common.  I am guessing again, that it is at least 30 years old.

I used to have the exact same piece in blue, but sold that ages ago.  I’m not too crazy about the white hobnail (I must admit) but it IS easy to find.Hobnail Vase (2)

I also saw a lidded white milkglass box on a stand in Fort Erie.  I think it was a cigarette holder.  I’m kind of sorry that I didn’t buy it.  But…oh well……Can’t have everything!

Candle Holder, Hobnail, Milkglass

Hobnail Candle Stick Holders (3)More of the Fort Erie purchases.  No markings so I don’t know if they are Fenton – just my best guess. Pretty for the appropriate decor.

One of my daughters recently claimed some of my hobnail pieces.  I’ll have to check and see if these are also desired.Hobnail Candle Stick Holders

Candle Holder, Hobnail, Milkglass

Fenton HobnailDropped my mom home to Fort Erie and we decided to check out the two thrift shops there.  I picked up a few pieces of hobnail.  So……it will be hobnail show and tell this week!

Interesting piece.  On the bottom you can see the letters “Patent No. 3547569”.  The inside has a Fenton label.  Pretty easy to look up.Fenton Hobnail 3

I obviously have no imagination so couldn’t figure out the purpose of this piece.  Turns out it is a candle holder.  There are spaces for five small candles and then there is space in the middle for candles of two different sizes.

I found a couple samples online, including one in blue slag glass.  Two of them indicate that the piece was signed with the Fenton-in-an-oval signature.  My piece in unsigned – just the label.  Fenton Hobnail (2)So I have no idea how old this is.  At least 30 years old I’d guess.  Not difficult to find these online.  I saw one with a lid.  I guess that was to cover the bowl when it was not in use.

For $3.00 I think this was a bargain!
