Blue Glass, Colored Glass, Coloured Glass, Cream and Sugar, Czechoslovakia, Depression, European Glass

I picked up this cream and sugar with the tray recently while on a trip to the Niagara area.  I was drawn to the pretty shade of blue, but didn’t know anything about the set, including its age.

I looked at a number of online sources to no avail and then posted it, with a request for an ID, on the great Everyday and Elegant Glass Forum.  It only took a day before the set was identified.  What a great network of glass afficionados!

Turns out that this set was made  in the 1930s by a glass company called the Inwold Glassworks of Prague, Czechoslovakia.  Here is a wee bit of information in its history –  http://www.museumportheimka.cz/vystava/inwald-the-story-of-a-glassworks/.  The line is called Perforal.  No idea of the name of the colour.

I would never have found this ID on my own as it didn’t occur to me that it may be a set from Europe.

Etched Glass, Plate Etched

I have found on Replacements.com that this etch was done by Glastonbury Lotus on line 1125.  However I do not know which company made the line and I have no name or number for the etch itself.  I do not have any resources on this company.  If someone else does….please  share!

I thought it would be a breeze to identify this stem.  Although the line is relatively common, I thought the etch would be easy to find.

No luck on either.  I would be grateful for any information.

Cocktail Glass, Floral Etch, Plate Etched, Spanish

I don’t drink cocktails often, but I sure like making them for others to try out.  This season I used my Cambridge Aurora Ruby Cocktail glasses and the recipes I tried were a perfect fit for a single drink.

I might have to try out these beautiful glasses.  Heisey’s Spanish (#3404) line with the pretty Titania etch (#456).

I think this is such a pretty combination.  I am still waiting on finding the Spanish stem in cobalt (at an affordable price that is!)

Best wishes to all for a happy and healthy new year.  Thanks for visiting.
