This neat looking cocktail glass was made by Heisey in 1947.  The line is #5048 – Rooster Head.

According to the book Heisey Glass 1896-1957: identification & guide by Neila and Tim Bredehoft, these stems were sold with Heisey’s #4225 Cobel cocktail shaker or the #4036 shaker with the Rooster Head stopper.  The stems came in crystal, and in a crystal bowl/amber stem combination.

The book also advises that there are other similar Rooster Head cocktails of unknown maker(s) which are not so finely made and come in various colours.

This is a very attractive glass with it’s fancy twisted stem, the shape of the bowl and of course the cutting.

The Corn Flower cutting appears to be that of Hughes as opposed to one of his imitators.  But of course I am always open to being corrected!

I am guessing that the stem is European – imported from Czechoslovakia or Hungary perhaps.

It’s been sometime since I have purchased an ‘unknown’ but these caught my eye.  They are just so fun!

Obviously a cocktail glass, this yellow stem has some interesting details.

I posted it on a Facebook ID site but haven’t had any definite identifications.  Someone Etsuggested that they could be check. Someone else suggested an Art Deco look.

If anyone knows, I would be happy to hear.
