This is a very attractive glass with it’s fancy twisted stem, the shape of the bowl and of course the cutting.
The Corn Flower cutting appears to be that of Hughes as opposed to one of his imitators. But of course I am always open to being corrected!
I am guessing that the stem is European – imported from Czechoslovakia or Hungary perhaps.

I bought the attractive glasses at the Twindmills Market in Colborne. I have had my eyes on them for a long time. We stop there regularly on the way to and from visiting the grandkids in Belleville.
Walked in the other day and the vendor had a great table full of amber glass on sale. These, and two candlesticks, became mine!
I had been looking for them for ages, but as the song says……..”looking in all the wrong places!”
I posted them on the Vintage Glass Identification Facebook group and someone had identified them in a very short time.
The pattern is called Theodule and they were made by Val. St. Lambert. I know nothing about this company and would never have identified these pieces without help. From Wikipedia –
“Val Saint Lambert is a Belgian crystal glassware manufacturer, founded in 1826 and based in Seraing. It has the royal warrant of King Albert .”

I found these items online and if various posters are accurate, these pieces were produced during the 1950s.
Don’t know if they would be wines or water goblets. But they are a great colour of amber and very arresting looking.

I picked up this cream and sugar with the tray recently while on a trip to the Niagara area. I was drawn to the pretty shade of blue, but didn’t know anything about the set, including its age.
I looked at a number of online sources to no avail and then posted it, with a request for an ID, on the great Everyday and Elegant Glass Forum. It only took a day before the set was identified. What a great network of glass afficionados!
Turns out that this set was made in the 1930s by a glass company called the Inwold Glassworks of Prague, Czechoslovakia. Here is a wee bit of information in its history – http://www.museumportheimka.cz/vystava/inwald-the-story-of-a-glassworks/. The line is called Perforal. No idea of the name of the colour.
I would never have found this ID on my own as it didn’t occur to me that it may be a set from Europe.
