Cambridge Glass Bowl with Etch 704 – Windows

I thought the amber colour of this bowl was so rich.  When I saw it I recognized that the etch was by Cambridge.  Etch #704, also known as Windows.  I don’t know who gave it that name.  Could have been collectors or an author, but I don’t think it was an ‘official’ Cambridge name.

Surprisingly I have been so far unable to identify the line.  After looking at my few Cambridge resources, I looked through 146 pages of Cambridge bowls posted at the Miami Valley Study Group of National Cambridge Collectors, Inc. site.  Of course after awhile they all looked the same, and I could have missed it!  Check out this site though.  Eye candy treats!

If anyone knows, I would love to hear.

Cambridge Glass Crown Tuscan Candy Box

This beautiful candy box and cover is Cambridge’s line #3500/57.  The colour is an opaque pale pink, Cambridge’s Crown Tuscan. The hand painted decoration was created by Abels, Wasserberg and Company (AWC) and is part of their Charleton line. The decoration is called Roses and Bows (I think).

Learning about AWC was new for me.  I always thought that the company itself was called Charleton.  I see that there are a couple reference books about the company, but I don’t collect enough examples of their work to buy a text.

The hand painted details and the gilt are still in amazing shape.

The AWC label is present on the bottom on the piece. I imagine the label might identify the production year, but I do not know what the numbers signify.  This is where the text would come in handy!

Pink Cambridge Glass Center Handled Server – Line 168 with Etch 520

My love affair with center handle servers lives on.  I have an alarming number of these pieces and rarely, rarely use them.  They are a pain to store as you can’t stack them.  But…..this piece was too pretty to pass by.

I don’t know its age so am unsure if it is Peach-Blo or Dianthus Pink.  My only definite piece of Peach-Blo isn’t as ‘pink’ as this piece, it’s more peachy.  I will have to get off my lazy posterior and find an age for this server.
