I saw this at my favourite, local antique shop- Under the Toadstool. I only came across the elephant recently, in a book, and at Replacements.com,
when I was checking out my poodle purchase. It’s a powder jar. Hard to believe that this item is 60-70 years old. My sister-in-law loves elephants so I think this will be hers eventually. I’d never seen one before. Kind of fun!

Yesterday I did a nice little route. Two Bible Mission Thrift Shops, one Value Village, and my favourite antique store. Picked up a variety of pieces. I got three of these wine glasses. They were marked with the name”Boda.” I’m not sure if they are Kosta Boda, or from the Boda Factory which was bought out by Kosta Boda. I have an email in to them to see if they can identify the age of the glass. Yet again a vendor on ebay provided the pattern name – Rosita. They have a nice heft and a beautiful ring. Not sure what I will do with them. They are too small to use (you’d have to be filling the glass repeatedly!) and I have no interest in acquiring any others. But….I always enjoy the opportunity to find out a little more about some glass.
p.s. Two weeks later – I bought 6 more at the same shop. Thought I wouldn’t, but now I have a set I can sell some day!

I have already posted this etch in another piece. But you can never see too much of these beautiful pieces of glass. They look different depending on the size and shape. I really wanted to show this stem. It is called “Wave”. It truly is gorgeous. Also have thrown in the bird’s-eye view as well. This is a cool dish. I can hardly imagine having a dish specifically for jelly!!!!! I have never used this. Bought it to sell, although I have had no luck so far. But I don’t have to…..that’s the beauty of collecting. You just collect for the sake of the beauty of the item. I have water goblets in this etch but they are at my mom’s house. I’ve sold various bowls and some pretty little parfait/juice glasses in the past. For awhile I thought I’d amass a large collection for myself. But…..I keep changing my mind.
