I ordered this online recently. I had never seen it in the ‘flesh’ before and decided I wanted to acquire a piece. The stems can be costly, for just a look, but I came across the single glass and thought it was worth the price. And boy is it ever. Replacements.com identifies the production time frame as 1939-1956. The etch is composed of four ‘fancy’ musicians or dancers and a pretty pattern etched in between. If you want a clear perspective, check out this image on the Heisey Glass museum site – http://www.heiseymuseum.org/etchings.html#cat3. I’ve added the photos to give you a sense of the etch and to show the pretty stem.
I wouldn’t mine acquiring a few more of these stems for a set. But I have to say that I do not like the shape of the bowl as much as other stems I have. I like the detail on the stem however. I do like the Heisey pieces, and I have a few of Frontenac, Orchid and Pied Piper, very much.
