I do not collect milk glass deliberately. While I think milk glass is pretty, especially the more ornate pressed patterns, it’s just not ‘my thing’.
I picked this piece up somewhere – don’t really remember where and have not been able to identify it. I have posted it on a Facebook glass ID site to no avail.
It is a heavy piece – weighs over a pound on its own – with lots of details. If anyone knows its provenance, I would be grateful for information.

I have seen this piece online in the past. It has been identified as Westmoreland, but I do no know if this is true. If someone else does that would be great. It is not signed, but has the number ‘3’ in the bottom of the base.
I only have the reference – Westoreland Glass 1950-1984 by Lorraine Kovar. This piece is not represented. No surprise as I think it was made earlier.
In any event it is a neat piece. I like the cheeky expression on the lion’s face. The paint is worn off but it obviously was decorated with dark brown or green in the past.

This is a small pressed glass bowl made by Heisey Glass, likely during 1899-1903ish. The pattern is called Beaded Swag. The rim has sawteeth with gilt. The bottom is rayed.
I have seen this described as ‘opal’ and milk glass. There may be custard glass with this pattern as well, but I don’t think this is custard glass.
I like the local connection – being close to Toronto.
