I don’t have alot of milk glass. It’s funny. When I see it in person I think…..”well, that’s nice, but ho hum.” When I see it on people’s blogs or on Pinterest, I think, “Wow! How gorgeous!”
I don’t know alot about milk glass, but I do know that Westmoreland was a significant manufacturer. Here’s a link to an interesting piece on Milk Glass.
I think this piece is aptly named. The little blocks with the stars placed on the diagonal does have the look of an old-fashioned quilt.

Please find a pretty pressed ruffled edge milk glass vase manufactured by the Imperial Glass Company. It was likely manufactured between 1953-1971. This pressed piece is decorated with a ruffled edge, loganberries and leaves and is signed with Imperial’s mark.
I like it because it reminds me of my neighbour’s mulberry tree (yes I know they weren’t loganberries). I don’t even know what loganberries are! Anyway my neighbour had a tree and the neighbourhood kids spent a great deal of time in it picking and eating berries. While the tree was cut down as there after a horrible accident, I still have fond memories of having a purple stained mouth and figures.
This all happened 50+ years ago. So clear to me, although last week is a bit of a blur!

Another pretty example, this time with hand painted details. I see in my book Westmoreland Glass: 1950-1984 by Lorraine Kovar, that this vase is item #37, but I don’t know if that is the author’s numbering or Westmoreland’s.
It is hard to see in such a small photo, but the roses, bows and foliage are the same with the minor differences resulting from different artisans doing the painting.
Very pretty.

This cute milk glass sugar bowl showcases the ‘fruity’ details of Westmoreland’s popular Paneled Grape pattern. It was likely manufactured in the 1950s or 1960s.
The sugar bowl is considered to be the ‘small’ bowl and stands 3 3/8 inches tall, without the lid. With the lid, it stands about 5 3/4 inches to the top of the finial.
It is marked with Westmoreland’s “WG” mark.
The Paneled Grape pieces must have been common as they are not difficult to locate.
