We went to the Orono Festival and Artisan Show last month. As always there was lots to see.
This pretty little plate came home with me. I didn’t know the name but it wasn’t hard to identify with my handy dandy pocket guide – Warman’s Depression Glass Field Guide.
According to Warman the Sierra line was manufactured from 1931-33 and was made in green and pink, with a few pieces in Ultramarine.
Difficult to capture the colour, but is is a very pretty green.

Powder jars have come and gone from my household. But Spike has hung around for awhile now. Don’t know if it is the “cheery” 🙁 look on his face, or the pretty green colour.
This is a smaller jar with a width of 4 1/2 inches. But…it is a solid 5 inches tall to the top of Spike’s head.
There is another L.E. Smith dog powder jar with the bulldog sitting, but I like this guy.

It’s funny how events unfold. I picked up two of these stems recently. I rarely buy two of anything any more, but they were of interest and I hadn’t seen the pattern.
Lo and behold I came across two more a couple weeks later! I prefer to have a set of four for use or to sell. Now…I best make sure they ARE the same. I think the last two are still in a bag somewhere.
This is the pattern Jap Lily. The Elegant and Everyday Glass Forum dates this piece from 1918-1934.
Line # could be 14179.
