What a great trip we had to Washington, D.C. and points in between. I didn’t keep track of the thrift shops, antique shops and flea markets that we visited, but there were lots. My guy is very patient.
I brought back more than the usual number of items and have lots of new (old) pieces to post.
I always look for the special piece that really peaks my interest (that’s affordable). I didn’t find anything until yesterday at the very last shop we visited in Waterdown, New York. It’s a beauty, but I am gong to try to identify it before it is posted.
In the interim, here’s a cute little cat on nest. Made by Westmoreland, it has opalescent edges and ears.
Quite the sad expression on its little face.
I’ve posted the mark. It was created by Westmoreland’s final owner, David Grossman. The Grossman mark consists of the name Westmoreland encircling three vertical lines. I know it’s hard to pick up the details in this photo. This mark was used between 1983-1984, when the company closed. So this little kitty is 30+ years old!
