I don’t normally post a particular stem more than once, unless I am updating the ID, or adding other pieces.  But I had to write about this piece.

I sold it yesterday on Etsy.  Searched my entire garage for it, only to find it in my office on a shelf.  Overlooked it the first two times I searched there!

But the reason I wanted to write about it was because the buyer told me that her sister-in-law had inherited this pattern from her mother and wants to add to her collection.

I love that story.  That continuity of a collection.  I think I’ve written before that I often wonder about the previous owners of pieces that I have.  Who were they?  Did they enjoy the pieces when they owned them?  How did they use them?  Who bought them for them?  Etc., etc.  Questions with no answers of course.  But still nice to ponder.

I have been totally lackadaisical about photographing and posting info about my trip purchases.  I have to admit that I am more preoccupied with my garden in the summer than I am with my glass.

However…this is a glass that I found somewhere in Kentucky.

The cool thing is that I bought it and then recognized it in the Fostoria Museum.  That was a pretty neat experience.

Replacements dates this needle etch from 1924-1942.  It is great to ID a needle etch in particular.  They are hard to ID.
