Unknown Red Shamrock Glasses (1)I never did identify the glasses below in the first post.  I recently came across these glasses in Toronto and of course ‘had to have them’.

These pieces are larger, but have the same pretty etching.  The red is flashed on, not red glass.

I like the shape and weight of the stems and although I know this is irrelevant – they make the prettiest ‘ring’ when ‘pinged’.

I am still hopeful that someone will know who made these pretty stems.Unknown Red Shamrock Glasses (2)

033Isn’t this pretty?  I have not yet identified the etch.  It’s been awhile since I picked up an unknown etch, but these three were so pretty.  They used to have gold edges on the rim and base.  Most of it is worn off now.

Don’t know why I often lean when taking photos!

You can see the detailing in the close up.  I know that someone knows what these are.  When I was photographing them I thought there was a signature on the one.  030I kept looking at it with my magnifying glass, but couldn’t quite tell what it was.  I looked and turned the item and changed glasses, etc. trying to decipher the name or image.

Thank heavens there isn’t a video feed in my office.  Turned out to be food stuck on the bottom of the glass!  Sheesh.

I hope a little glass identifying angel reads this and tells me the history of this stem.

Floral Etch, Plate Etched, Wine Glass

Unknown Blank, Unknown Etch (1)I thought that identifying this wine glass would be a breeze due to the unusual stem.  I didn’t recognize it, but figured that someone more knowledgeable than I, would have an ‘ah ha’ moment.  I posted it on the Elegant and Everyday Glass Forum, where the members know all……to no avail, yet.Unknown Blank, Unknown Etch (2)

I’m guessing European, although I don’t know why!

I also posted it through Google Images.  I’ve not had any luck using this search, and I didn’t with this glass either.  Lots of pretty pieces were featured but no matches.  Interestingly there were quite a few pieces with Heisey’s Orchid etch.  A pretty pattern, but nothing like this one.

Unknown Blank, Unknown Etch (3)I have also posted on the Glass Message Board.  I hope someone recognizes this piece.  I have two stems, but wouldn’t mind finding a couple more.

Needle Etch

Unknown Needle Etch on Unknown Stem with Bulb (3)The needle etches are often very difficult to identify.  The blank is often the key to identifying which company produced the stem.  Unfortunately I have no idea who made this glass.

I like all of the bands of etching.  But likely will have to add this pattern to the Unknown Glass Museum.  Maybe I should start another page with just those photos!Unknown Needle Etch on Unknown Stem with Bulb (5)
