Heisey coventry with belvedere

I had long been looking for the water goblets from this pattern and with this etch.  I was so happy to find this set of stems.  While I am still looking for the tall goblets, these short ones will do in the interim.  They are beautiful!

I haven’t been able to find any more stemware with this beautiful etch.  But I did find this divided bowl and tray in the Fern line.

Still looking for the water goblets in the Coventry line.

Heisey Belvedere (2)These two glasses – the cordial (smaller glass) and the soda – show Heisey’s beautiful plate etch #500 – Belvedere.  The blank is line #4090 – Coventry.  This line had a brief production period of 1937-1939.

I was thrilled to find the cordials online.  They looked gorgeous in the photo, but they were far more attractive ‘in person’.

I started searching for them on and off and finally found a set of four of the sodas.  Very lovely.  The etch is quite complex and the blank has a nice solid look and feel.

I was lucky to find another four of the sodas.  I am hoping to find some water goblets at some point.  I am still using my Belle le Rose stems for my dressier table settings, but I think that this pattern could prove to be as, or even more, beautiful.

I have stopped buying, for the most part, small liqueur, cordial or sherry glasses.  No one want to use these small glasses any longer.

However these glasses are very pretty.  I haven’t been able to identify them.  For some reason I think they are European.  They have a similar shape and ‘feel’ to pieces of Baccarat that I have identified in the past.

As always, if anyone knows anything about this glass i would be grateful for the information.

Val St. Lambert Simplicity Small Glasses (1)Val St. Lambert Cristalleries of Belgium was founded by Messieurs Kemlin and Lelievre in 1825 and is still in operation. The company is the official glassware supplier to His Majesty King Albert II of Belgium.

I gather that they are well known for their cut and colourful table and decorative glassware.

I came across these pieces in Deseronto at Karen Brown’s Antiques & Collectibles.  I have water goblets and a decanter, but haven’t gotten around to the photos yet.

I have seen photos of this stem in cobalt cut to clear as well.

There is an interesting 2007 online article – How Do You Know It’s Val_Saint-Lambert? – that has some gorgeous photos of Val St. Lambert pieces and shots of lookalikes from other companies.

These are very attractive stems.
