I was at the Twindmills Antiques Market in Colborne last weekend. They always have a nice selection of items that are switched up often.
Nonetheless I was surprised to come across this very pretty server. It is a lovely pink with the very attractive Juno etch.
Likely from the 1930s.

At my place of work we take every opportunity to have some kind of celebratory food. Last month we had a finger food day in recognition of St. Patrick’s Day. I took a variety of Irish cheeses and crackers and was very happy to serve them on my green server in this same line. It looked very pretty on the table!
Since this time I have acquired this piece of Tiffin with a gilt trim and an unidentified cutting.
Because I had forgotten that the shapes were similar, I turned to my handy dandy book – A Guide to Identification of Glass Center Handle Servers by Inez J. Austin – and to my favourite glass website – the Elegant and Everyday Glass Forum – for an ID.
Ms. Austin’s book (p.49) speaks about the difficulty of identifying some Tiffin servers. She calls this handle “vee handle with hill top”. She says that the 310-10 inch server was introduced in 1922 as a round piece, but by 1923 has the 2 ripple pattern that is seen on this example.
If anyone knows the name of the decoration I would be happy to hear.

I haven’t looked at this listing for a long time. But now that I am looking at the photo I think that I misnamed it originally. I think that the piece is from Cambridge Glass with etch Rose Point.
I no longer have the piece to verify the ID, but I think Rose Point is the better bet.

I’ve a number of pieces of this pattern – water goblets, one champagne stem, and various serving pieces. I bought this at an auction in Brighton with the other serving pieces.
I can’t find this particular
dish online, but I am guessing that it is a handled cake plate. It has a one inch base, so it is likely for cakes or cookies. These pieces are pretty, but they take up so much storage room. Right now this one lives in a cedar chest with other pieces (and other collectible stuff) that have no public showing.
