It seems like a very long time ago that I was antiquing in the US to purchase this pretty little piece.  Actually just being in the US was over a year ago.  We had to cancel our trip to Cambridge Ohio where I was going to attend my first Cambridge Glass Convention.  Oh well, my credit card was spared I guess.  Next year!

This is a pretty little piece with #327 Navarre.  Love the handles.

I haven’t looked at this listing for a long time.  But now that I am looking at the photo I think that I misnamed it originally.  I think that the piece is from Cambridge Glass with etch Rose Point.

I no longer have the piece to verify the ID, but I think Rose Point is the better bet.

Original Listing – May 24, 2012

I’ve a number of pieces of this pattern – water goblets, one champagne stem, and various serving pieces.  I bought this at an auction in Brighton with the other serving pieces.

I can’t find this particular dish online, but I am guessing that it is a handled cake plate.  It has a one inch base, so it is likely for cakes or cookies.  These pieces are pretty, but they take up so much storage room.  Right now this one lives in a cedar chest with other pieces (and other collectible stuff) that have no public showing.

Cambridge Rosepoint Cake Plate (5)I was told recently that vintage cake plates are “in”.  I don’t know, I’ve never been “in”!  I gather that serious hosts/cooks would never serve their cake on Tupperware.  Who knew?

I can attest that this is a very pretty item.  I have been Cambridge Rosepoint Cake Plate (3)digging through the boxes in the garage and will be posting some ‘lost’ items, including this piece.

I think I bought this at an auction some time ago and was too lazy to photograph it, before burying it.Cambridge Rosepoint Cake Plate (2)

The etch is fairly common – it was made on a number of different shapes and in many pieces, over a long period of time –  from 1934-1958.  Pretty pattern – the etch is made up of flowers, a crest and leaves.

Now that I’ve rediscovered it, I might just have to bake a cake!
