Cambridge Rosepoint Cake Plate (5)I was told recently that vintage cake plates are “in”.  I don’t know, I’ve never been “in”!  I gather that serious hosts/cooks would never serve their cake on Tupperware.  Who knew?

I can attest that this is a very pretty item.  I have been Cambridge Rosepoint Cake Plate (3)digging through the boxes in the garage and will be posting some ‘lost’ items, including this piece.

I think I bought this at an auction some time ago and was too lazy to photograph it, before burying it.Cambridge Rosepoint Cake Plate (2)

The etch is fairly common – it was made on a number of different shapes and in many pieces, over a long period of time –  from 1934-1958.  Pretty pattern – the etch is made up of flowers, a crest and leaves.

Now that I’ve rediscovered it, I might just have to bake a cake!
