I am always surprised when I walk into a local shop and find a piece of Heisey or Cambridge glass.  This cute little creamer caught my eye immediately.

According to the reference book: Heisey Glass 1896-1957 by Neila and Tom Bredehoft this pattern, #355 – Quator – dates 1913-1935. The creamer is marked with the Heisey Diamond H in the interior.

The rim etch and gilt which was likely added by a company other than Heisey.  Haven’t tried to find the pattern, but I likely should look through my books on Lotus and Wheeling and see if it is there.

I’ve never seen a bottom like this.  I verified with some Facebook glassaholics that this was evidence that the bottom was not polished.

I have long wanted one of these bowls to add to my lion collection.  Generally they are quite costly, particularly those in colour.  I very nice man in my Heisey Facebook group pointed out this one that was for sale on ebay for an affordable price.

I love it!  It is much larger than I had expected.  Four lion heads grace the perimeter and the feet are lions’ paws.

I believe that this piece was made by Heisey in the 1930s.

This is such a pretty set.  The cutting is lovely – I don’t think the photos do it justice.  I posted the set online somewhere and asked if anyone knew anything about the decoration.  Someone suggested that it could be a Hawkes’ cutting.

The design by Thomas Clarence Heisey was patented in 1912.  The patent is shown in the Elegant and Everyday Glass Forum.
