This past weekend was glorious. We took a rural ramble and headed out to Bobcaygeon, one of our rambles.
As it turned out it was Bikefest, which isn’t bicycles, as I thought when I saw the signage, but a gathering of motorcycles! Lots of beautiful, powerful machines prowling about town. I used to ride a bike. Still have my motorcycle license, but it’s been a long, long time since I have piloted one.
Anyway….some new antique stores have opened since we were last in Bobcaygeon. I bought these pieces at Good Pickins a nice clean shop with lots of variety and very reasonable prices.
I have no idea if they were made last week, or if they are old. They are heavy and attractive. They look like pressed glass, but I am thinking that they are modern. No luck with anyone identifying them yet, but I will keep looking.
I wonder if green glass is popular. This week I have sold my Fostoria Vernon and Fostoria Spartan green pieces. Gorgeous pieces all, especially the all green Vernon stems.
I always have minor regrets when I sell something. They were all sitting on shelves in my office and I have enjoyed looking at them, but oh well………….new space for new treasures. These pieces are attractive in a different way. Not as delicate, but they have a shine to them that made them irresistible.
