Heisey Sealyham TerrierI thought that I had posted this awhile back…but somehow I omitted this favourite piece.

I had long coveted this piece but was unwilling to pay the price until I came across this piece that someone was obviously trying to kid rid of.

I really, really like this piece.  I don’t know why exactly, as I don’t own a Scottie and never have.  It stands beside my Jeannette Scottie Powder Jar in a prominent spot.  I have to admit to trolling online sites for other Scottie figures.  A new collection waiting in the making????  I hope not.007

Heisey made quite a number of animal figures between 1933-1957.

Avon Snow OwlOver the years I have collected personal treasures for myself and my children and stored them in big plastic totes.

I have been trying to clean up my own totes – give away some items, trash others, etc.  I came across this glass owl recently.

I cannot recall who gave this to me and/or when I received it.  Years ago , as in 40 – yikes! – I was a brownie leader.  At first I was a “Snowy Owl”, then I earned my “Tawny Owl” designation.  In fact I recently gave my pin to my daughter who is a guide leader.  Anyway……..I started receiving lots of ‘owl-themed’ gifts.  Candles, jewelery, macrame, etc. etc.  I think this is likely a recent gift, but this is the only reason I think I have this.  Or……maybe it’s been in my tote for awhile.

In any event, it is an Avon powder container called Snow Owl.  Piercing blue eyes!

Bacchante Update to Bayel ‘s Bacchus Nude Wine Glass

Bayel Bacchante Large Glass (5)I have acquired quite a few pieces over the last month, but have been slow to get them posted.  Hard when the weather is nice – I’d rather be in the garden!  However the snow today is rather discouraging……..so on to the new posts……..I found this figure of Bacchante recently.  The shape is quite unusual – at least to me.  A large water goblet, or more likely a brandy or scotch glass.  This figure has both arms raised and no grapes hiding the salicious bits.Bayel Bacchante Large Glass (2)

I think this is to  the Bacchante figure, but if someone else knows differently I’d be happy to be corrected.

This is a fun stem from the French company Bayel.  The male figure is named Bacchus and the female stem (I don’t have any, yet) is called Bacchante.

The stem is frosted, with a clear bowl.  The figure is nude with grape wreath wrapped around it.

There are a number of different pieces, but I think I will be happy with just this one.  I have another one coming in the mail – just to have a happy matched pair!
