It is always handy when the label is still attached to an item. I wouldn’t have guessed the manufacturer of this jar otherwise.
Don’t know if it was intended to be a candy jar, but it is a good size for that. Also handy for cotton balls, Q-tips, etc….or just pretty for display.
The shape of the jar, the details of the lid make this attractive. Also interesting is the yellow tint of the lid when exposed to light.

I tried to get a photo of this stem glowing under the black light, but couldn’t seem to manage it. It has a bit of uranium and has a pretty colour in and out of black light.
This water goblet was made by the Hocking Glass Company, Lancaster, Ohio, from 1929-1933. The pattern is called Block Optic.
I gather that this pattern was produced in amber, crystal, pink and yellow as well as in the green. According to Warman, production in the amber was limited, so keep you eyes peeled!
There certainly seems to have been quite a number of pieces made in this line. It is not a dainty line – sturdy – but attractive nonetheless.
Even though they are not a match, wouldn’t this goblet look nice on the table with Hocking’s server in the Ring pattern?
