Spread the love

Hocking Mayfair Pink luncheon plate (6)I am not a big fan of the heavier Depression glass, but this came to me via my guy and an auction.  He thought they would interest me, and he was right, although I don’t really want to keep them.  Luckily my cross the street neighbour loves pink glass and when I get tired of something she is happy to take it off my hands!

Hard to photograph the pieces and catch the colour.  It is darker than these photos would indicate.  The square dish is a luncheon plate and the round dish is a bread and butter (I’ve shown the reverse of the Bread and butter).007

These pieces were manufactured by the Hocking Glass Company of Lancaster, Ohio from 1931 to 1937.  They came in lots of colours – crystal, green, ice blue, pink, pink satin and yellow.

Be careful if you are a collector.  I gather this pattern has been heavily reproduced.
