Heisey Renaissance (3)

Happy Thanksgiving!  I am grateful for the many important blessing in my life – family, friends, health, a lovely home, good job, etc.

Perhaps lesser, but still a blessing, I am grateful to be able to surround myself with beautiful pieces of craftsmanship.  Like these glasses…….

Renaissance – the rebirth.  No idea why this etch was given this name.

The pattern was introduced in 1918 and discontinued in 1939.  The patent was granted to Joseph Balda, on behalf of Heisey, on October 25, 1921.

This is a sample of double plate etching.

Heisey Renaissance

This is the water goblet.  The etch is a cameo of a nymph (?) on a branch.  Unlike some of the other Heisey etches, all of the cameos have the same figure.  Very pretty.
