This is a real pretty plate. I don’t know its purpose.  Suspect it is a torte plate.  Prelude is not an uncommon pattern.  I have a couple other serving dishes in the pattern.  Viking produced this etch up into the 1980s.  Hard to believe that this is still 30 years ago!  I don’t enjoy the serving dishes as much as the glasses, but this was too pretty to pass up.
