I have absolutely no idea what this might be, or actually, why I bought it.  It is decorative.  I think it must have been part of a dresser set or bathroom set.  Perhaps it was intended to store cotton balls!  I am just guessing.  I always hope that some knowledgeable person will fill me in.

It reminds me of something from the sixties decor.  In great shape, with a wee bit of gold loss.

The funny thing is that my guy comes home form an auction with gorgeous German Bayreuth cream soup bowls that have a similar rose on them.  They were almost a match.  The bowls went home with a daughter, but I still have them (for the moment at least).  No idea what I’m going to do with it.  The garage?
