Line #5097 (dig those spiralled stems) cocktail glasses with the Beverly Etch.

August 30, 2020

This colour of this candlestick holder a rich amber.  Very compelling.

It was produced by the Fostoria Glass Company between 1924-1953.

The pattern is line #2324 and the etch is #276 Beverly.

I love these intricate etches.

Heisey Old Colony Sahara (3)These two photos illustrate Heisey’s Old Dominion blank/shape – #3390.

The first stem is in Heisey’s yellow shade called Sahara.  It has been etched with the Old Colony pattern – #448.

The bowls of both have a diamond optic., as seen more closely below.

The second stem has no etch on its clear bowl.  The stem is shaded in Heisey’s green called Moongleam.Heisey Old Dominion (2)

These are very pretty glasses, produced in the 1930s.

Even though they are the same shape and size, the colour and etching make them look very different.

Cocktail Glasses, Liquor Cocktails, Loop Optic

Fostoria CelliniI picked up three of these stems, in an auction lot I think.  I knew I had seen them online and it wasn’t too hard to identify them.

They are stem #6024 – Cellini by Fostoria.  Production dates – 1938 – 1970.  The interesting item is the optic, a loop optic.   I thought the no optic look more ‘scalloped’, but I guess this is the same look, regardless of the name!  Different in any event.

I think these are the liquour, or cocktail glasses.

Fostoria Cellini (2)

I was assessing these for sale and noticed that all three of them had a production flaw that resembles a scratch in basically the exact same place on each stem.  Weird.  The trouble is that the flaw can be viewed through the stem.  Since they are magnified they look larger than they really are.

They are in the ‘giveaway’ pile for someone to enjoy.
