Hughes Cornflower Centre Handled DishI have sworn a million times that I am not going to buy any more Corn Flower, unless it is a coloured piece.  However, pieces keep following me home!

This weekend we took a trip down to the Niagara area.  Picked up a few pieces here and there.  Stopped in at Around the Block in Toronto.  What a great place!  They have a nice variety of good quality items of all kinds.  Very clean and bright and nicely arranged.  Definitely worth a visit.

This is a consignment shop with a difference.  Every month the prices of items decrease by 10%.  The price drops are shown right on the tags.  I bought this Hughes/Imperial plate and another dish which I will showcase soon.  Oh yes…a glass too.

The trouble with these center handled pieces is that they are large and correspondingly, more of a pain to store!  But….it is pretty, isn’t it?

Imperial Candlewick Cornflower Tray (2)Over the weekend I was searching the garage for some pieces I sold.  Although I am glad that someone is going to appreciate the glass, and I don’t need it, I always have a teensy, weensy pang of regret (for a moment).

In any event I came across this little tray.  It likely was intended to display a creamer and sugar, but is, in my opinion, a pretty display piece on its own.

Hughes bought quite a number of blanks from Imperial with the Candlewick edging. This is the only piece I own, although I do have a number of pieces of Corn Flower. Still looking for a reasonably priced piece in colour.
