Cornflower sherberts (3)Because Hughes was a Canadian company you see alot of Cornflower in our area.  When I was a young teen I actually started collecting pieces that you could buy from a local jeweler in my small hometown.  They have long disappeared.

I have picked up various pieces of Cornflower over the years in no organized manner.  Last month when I was at the Corning Museum I bought the book Elegant glass with Corn Flower: Imperial Candlewick, Heisey, Tiffin & more by Walter T. Lemiski.

I’ve been trying to identify the blanks of the pieces that I have.  I haven’t had a great deal of luck as my pieces are primarily stemware and pretty non-descript.

But, the author has included sections on different coloured Cornflower.  My, my they are gorgeous!  These pieces are not commonly seen, but I will be on the lookout.  I have pink Tiffin stemware, but that’s it for coloured pieces.

i recommend this book as a great reference.
