Anchor Hocking Bubble (4)The water goblets.  The red is so rich!

———————————————————————-

Original post – May 10, 2012

I have to correct an earlier posting.  When I posted these glasses in January I referred to them as Boopies.  I was recentlyreading about Berwick, or Boopies, when I realized that the foot was not in fact a Boopie foot.  These glasses are Bubble Feet, official name – Early American.  Still pretty, and still by Anchor Hocking.

This explains my earlier confusion about the rounded shape.  The Boopie is more angular and I couldn’t figure out the more rounded shape.  You’d think I would have been more curious and investigated further!  But no.  According to replacements.com this is the liquor cocktail.  Always good to learn something new!!

Fire King Jadeite BowlI picked up this little bowl somewhere.  It is intended to travel out to British Columbia when I go visit my daughter.  I bought her a piece of Mckee awhile back and thought she would like this little bowl.

I don’t know anything about jadeite pieces.  I do know that there are alot of reproductions on the market.  I have no reference texts to validate any pieces.

It is marked with Fire King’s mid to late 1950s mark, according to this ebay article – Buying Fire King Jeannette Jadite Jadeite.  Fire KIng Jadeite Bowl 2I don’t know if marks have been reproduced or not.  So…its origin remains unknown.

In any event, I paid less than $5.00 for this little bowl, my daughter will love it regardless, so it doesn’t really matter.

Anchor Hocking Royal Ruby CupsPosted these and shortly thereafter found myself in a thrift shop picking up the cups.  No saucers though.  I’ll have to keep my eyes open for those!

Anchor Hocking RUby Red Sherberts (2)I love the richness of the colour of these pieces.  I have a number of pieces of coloured glass on display in my living room.  The dark greens, red and blues add a great deal of vibrancy to my room.

Alas these pieces are closed up in a kitchen cabinet.  There’s only so much glass that I can have out on surfaces!!!!!Anchor Hocking Ruby Red Bowl (2)

These pieces are fairly easily found I think.  A vegetable bowl, flat nine ounce tumblers, and flat sherberts.  I like the sherberts in particular as they are a nice dessert sized and not too delicate to be easily broken.

Likely made in the 1950s/1960s.

Here’s a nice look at some more unusual Royal Ruby items at the Anchor Anchor Hocking Ruby Red GlassHocking Glass Museum.
