Posted Fenton
inWhen we were in the States last month I was surprised by the amount of Fenton that we saw. Beautiful things of course. I did buy a piece of hobnail, which I haven’t posted yet, that I assume is Fenton, but haven’t verified, but otherwise didn’t buy anything. Prices were a bit higher than I wanted to pay.
I bought this 5 inch swan in Orono for my mother. Likely for her Christmas stocking. It will be a surprise because I don’t think she looks at this blog.
She has a collection of glass swans, but I don’t think she has any in red.
This swan, I think is called 5127, and was retired in 2000.
It comes in a number of colours, but I wonder if the red is common as I haven’t seen it online.
The red is deeper in ‘real’ life than this photo indicates. The picture looks more orange than it really is.

This is one of my bird-on-nests collection. I have no recollection of my purchase of this item, but I half think I got it in a box-lot at a Stapletons Newcastle auction.
It sits, with my other birds, on a white book case, in the sunny front window of my living room.
It’s a common item. All my searches tend to date it as a 1970s item. Mine has the number <14> on the bottom of the nest. No idea what that means.
Pretty piece, probably had powder in it originally.
