I have been wanting to buy one of these pieces for a long time.  I’d never seen one in a shop, but had seen them many times in online auctions and they peaked my interest.  They generally go for more than I am willing to pay, but this piece was very reasonably priced.

As you will see, in the photo looking from the top, the gold is a bit worn around the edges and this decreases its value.  That’s fine with me, at least I have one as a “placeholder”.

This information is from the book – Colors in Cambridge Glass II by National Cambridge Collectors, Inc.”Also known as the 3011 line, Lady Figure Line and “The Cambridge Nudes,” this line, or at least parts of it, was produced from 1931 until the second company ceased operations.”  My note – I think this was in 1958.

You can find the comports with a variety of painted decorations from a company called Charleton.  They are very pretty, but……increase the cost if the decorations are still pristine.

I was surprised at the weight of the piece.  Heavier than I would have thought.

I’d like to buy a companion piece from the line, but not until well after Christmas!
