I have neglected my poor little blog. Not for lack of items to profile, but because of work, gardening (kind of – still cold here in Ontario), volunteer stuff, but…mainly because of my new first grandson – a/k/a Mr. Adorable.
However I have a few minutes and wanted to post an addition to this pattern.
I am assuming that this is the water goblet. It stands 7 1/4 inches tall with an opening of 3 1/2 inches. Medium to wide optic.
Replacements.com identifies this as stem #5093.
Very pretty.

Isn’t this pretty? A deep, lovely amber colour with an intricate etch. I only have the one unfortunately.
This is etch #275 – Vesper in line #2324. Replacements.com has it produced from 1928-1933.

My guy brought this bowl home from the local flea market. It has a striking appearance – nice rich colour, great weight with solid feet.
I had no idea as to its provenance since I’d never seen anything like it. luckily the Elegant and Everyday Glass Forum came through with the correct ID. A reference was made to the Presglass-Pavillion site and there it was!
According to the 20th Century Glass online encyclopedia:
“Walther Glas was founded in 1865 in Saxony, Germany. In 1950 the company was expropriated. Production began again in Siebenstern, Germany, in 1951. Walther Glas still produces glassware today, under the management of Volker Walther.”
Here is a sketch of this pattern. Don’t know if this is a catalog, or some sort of registration. Looks like this piece was designed or produced in 1937. So…European Depression Glass.
This pattern came in a large number of pieces, and in a range of different colours. I saw photos of pieces called “cloud glass”. Lots of swirly decorations.
